Covid-19 Testing kits Donated to Africa are Fake? Papaya & Goat Tests Positive in Tanzania

The president instructed Tanzanian security forces to investigate COVID-19 test kits.

The President of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli has publicly denounced the testing kits for COVID-19 that were donated to Africa terming them as fake and useless. In his announcement he says that their team had randomly picked samples from animals and fruits, labeled them human names and age, took them to the Tanzanian laboratory with the lab technicians left deliberately unaware of their origins, and after testing the results came out positive for COVID-19.

He added this meant it was very likely that some people were being tested positive when, in fact, they were not infected by the coronavirus.

"There is something happening. I said before we should not accept that every aid is meant to be good for this nation," President Magufuli said.

Magufuli, who has consistently downplayed the effect of the virus, said on Sunday he had secretly had non-human and vehicle oil tested at the laboratory. Papaya, a quail, and a goat had been found to be positive. In a previous national address he said there is no way he can close mosques, churches, and any places of worship because of COVID-19 panic.

The president called for an investigation in what he suspected is a "dirty game" in the laboratory, but did not say where the kits had been imported from.

"The equipment or people may be compromised and sometimes it can be sabotage," Magufuli said in a speech broadcast live through state-run Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC).

The head of the Tanzanian national health laboratory in charge of coronavirus testing was suspended the following day.

Madagascar's improved traditional remedy for COVID-19 to be imported in Tanzania

President Magufuli announced that he had placed an order for the improved traditional treatment for the coronavirus from Madagascar.

"I have already written to Madagascar's president and we will soon dispatch a plane to fetch the medicine so that Tanzania can also benefit from it," he said.

The Madagascar COVID-19 remedy, called "Covid Organics" and prepared by the Malagasy Institute for Applied Research is an improved traditional remedy made up of artemisia and other endemic medicinal plants, such as Ravintsara.

Several African countries have ordered the organic remedy from Madagascar said to be a cure for COVID-19. On May 4, the Madagascar President Andry Rajoelina announced that a pharmaceutical factory will be built within a month to boost Covid-Organics production. And It will be administered in other forms such as injections.

Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea have already received shipments of the remedy, while Tanzania and the Republic of Congo have promised to import it.
